适用于赴华旅游、探亲与短期访问。我们提供材料清单、在线表填写（COVA）要点、邀请函要求、流程与时效说明。
基本材料清单
- 护照原件：有效期6 个月+，且有2 页以上空白签证页。
- 证件照：近6 个月白底彩照（用于 COVA 上传及打印备用）。
- 在线申请表 COVA：cova.mfa.gov.cn，填写并保存申请 ID。
- 在美居住/身份证明（如适用）：驾照/州 ID，或非美籍提供合法停留/居留证明。
- 行程材料或邀请函：往返机票与酒店订单；或由境内单位/个人出具邀请函，包含被邀请人信息、行程、费用来源及邀请方信息。
- 曾有中国国籍者：备旧中国护照或既往中国签证记录；如更名请附官方更名证明。
不同受理中心/国籍细节可能有差异；以当期要求为准。
申请步骤
- COVA 填表：完成个人信息、行程与工作/教育经历；上传符合规格的照片；记录申请 ID。
- 材料预审：将护照页、照片、行程/邀请函、COVA PDF 发给我们核对，必要时微调。
- 签字与寄送：按指引打印并签名；连同护照等材料寄送/现场递交。
- 受理与跟进：按所属领区规则办理（邮寄/面递/指纹采集等）；我们跟进进度。
- 出签与回寄：签发后回寄护照（附追踪）。
部分中心阶段性不强制机票与酒店订单，但建议准备初步计划以便审查（以当天要求为准）。

Required Documents
- Passport: 6+ months validity and 2 blank pages.
- Photo: white background, taken within 6 months (for COVA upload/print).
- COVA online form: cova.mfa.gov.cn; save your Application ID.
- US residence/status proof (if applicable): DL/State ID; for non-US nationals, lawful stay evidence.
- Itinerary or invitation: round-trip ticket & hotel bookings; or an invitation that states invitee details, itinerary and who covers expenses, plus inviter details.
- Former PRC nationals: prior PRC passport/visa records; name-change proof if applicable.
Requirements vary by Center/nationality. Follow current local guidance.
Process
- COVA: complete the form, upload a compliant photo, and note your Application ID.
- Pre-check: email passport page, photo, itinerary/invitation, and COVA PDF for review.
- Sign & ship: print/sign as instructed; submit by mail or in person.
- Acceptance & tracking: handled per jurisdiction (mail/in-person/fingerprints as required).
- Issuance & return: your passport is returned with tracking once issued.
Some Centers currently do not strictly require ticket/hotel receipts; bring a basic plan or invitation just in case (always follow the day-of instructions).

What does an L visa cover?
Tourism, family visits, and other short stays. Entries and stays are determined by the accepting office.
Are flight and hotel bookings mandatory?
Some Centers temporarily do not strictly require them; prepare a basic plan or an invitation anyway (follow day-of instructions).
What should the invitation include?
- Invitee details, itinerary (purpose, dates, cities), who pays expenses;
- Inviter’s name/address/phone; seal and authorized signature if applicable.
Will fingerprints be required?
Per local policy. Some applicants may be exempt by age or category.
