China Family Visa Invitation Letter Template
A family invitation letter does not need marketing language. It needs complete identities, a clear relationship and travel plan, plus a real signature and date that agree with COVA and the supporting documents.
Official content checklist
- Inviter: full name, gender, date of birth, Chinese ID number or foreign passport and Chinese permanent-residence details, China address, phone and email.
- Applicant: full name, gender, date of birth, nationality and passport number.
- Visit: short visit or long-term residence, purpose, planned arrival and intended stay.
- Relationship between inviter and applicant.
- Inviter’s signature and date.
Fill-in structure
I, [inviter’s full name], born [date], holding [Chinese ID / foreign passport and China status], live at [full China address]. My phone is [number] and email is [email].
I invite my [relationship], [applicant’s full name], born [date], a citizen of [country], passport [number], to visit China for [purpose]. The planned arrival is [date] and intended stay is [number of days / long-term residence].
[Inviter’s signature] [Date]
This structure is explanatory, not a government-issued form. Follow the live mission instruction if it requests a different form or additional wording.
Attach the inviter’s evidence
For a Chinese inviter, use a clear copy of the Chinese ID, front and back. For a foreign permanent resident inviting under Q, include the passport bio page and Chinese permanent residence card, front and back. For S categories, include the foreign inviter’s passport bio page and applicable Chinese residence permit or visa.
Avoid these defects
- Unsigned letters, typed names used as signatures without acceptance by the reviewing office, or missing dates.
- Nickname or transliteration differences from passports and relationship certificates.
- Travel dates that conflict with COVA.
- A letter describing friendship when the selected category requires a family relationship.
