China Q Visa Invitation Letter: Every Required Field
The Embassy publishes the contents expected in Q1 and Q2 invitation letters. A polished letter cannot compensate for missing identity details, inconsistent dates or an unsigned declaration.
Field-by-field checklist
- Inviter: full name, gender, birth date, qualifying ID numbers, China address, phone and email.
- Applicant: full name, gender, birth date, nationality and passport number exactly as shown in the passport.
- Visit: short visit or long-term residence, planned arrival and intended number of days.
- Relationship: state the exact family connection; add signature and date from the inviter.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming another applicant's category, validity or stay will apply to your case.
- Letting names, dates or purpose conflict across COVA and inviter, school or employer documents.
- Uploading cropped screenshots or incomplete pages that hide the issuer or key facts.
Does an invitation letter replace the inviter's ID copy?
No. The current requirements separately list the invitation and the qualifying Chinese ID or foreign passport and permanent residence card.
Reddit and other community reports can reveal common confusion, but an individual outcome is not an official rule and does not replace current consular requirements.
