China Z Visa Degree Documents and Apostille Planning
Degree authentication usually belongs to the employer-side Foreigner's Work Permit process. The U.S. consular Z visa list separately names the Notice for the Work Permit for Foreigners. Do not treat these as one interchangeable document step.
Current planning checklist
- Ask the China employer which degree, qualification and experience documents the local work-permit authority requires.
- For documents from Apostille Convention members, official China guidance recognizes apostille use; non-member-country documents follow legalization rules.
- Names, degree title, institution and dates must agree across the passport, employer filing and supporting records.
- The employer obtains the Work Permit Notice before the applicant uses it for the Z visa stage.
