China M Visa Duration of Stay: 30, 60 or 90 Days?
A China M visa can show different durations of stay; the number printed after each entry controls, not the overall validity period or an applicant's requested number.
Read the visa in three parts
The 'enter before' date tells when the visa may be used for entry. The entries field tells how many entries are permitted. The duration field tells how many days the holder may remain after each admission, normally counted from the day after entry under the published rules.
A one-year multiple-entry M visa therefore does not mean a continuous one-year stay. Each admission starts a new stay calculation subject to the printed duration and border inspection.
Support the requested stay
The invitation should state the commercial purpose, arrival and departure dates, locations, relationship with the inviting entity and expense arrangements. The COVA itinerary, company letter and invitation should tell the same story.
Do not inflate the trip to 90 days merely because community members report receiving it. The visa authority may issue a shorter duration, different entries or validity after reviewing the case.
Plan for the issued document, not an expectation
Check every printed field as soon as the passport returns. If the granted stay cannot cover the planned meetings, change the itinerary or obtain official advice before departure; do not assume an extension will be available in China.
eChinaVisa can pre-review the invitation and itinerary, help prepare COVA and coordinate passport handling. It cannot promise a particular duration, validity, entry count or admission at the border.
Frequently asked questions
Does a 10-year M visa allow a 10-year stay?
No. Ten years would describe validity, while each stay is limited by the separately printed duration.
Can I request 90 days per entry?
You may state a truthful supported need, but the visa authority decides what to issue.
Does leaving and re-entering reset the stay?
A valid unused entry can begin a new stay after admission, but the visa and border authority conditions still apply.
