China Travel Document Overview
The China Travel Document (also known as Chinese Travel Permit) is issued to Chinese nationals or individuals of Chinese descent who are not eligible to use a Chinese passport for travel to China.
Who Needs a Travel Document?

Travel Document vs Visa
A travel document is issued to Chinese nationals as a travel credential, while a visa is issued to foreign nationals for entry permission. If your child is considered a Chinese citizen, they need a travel document rather than a visa to enter China.
